Tea Leoni is an American actress who began her career during the late 1980s. Tea Leoni started out with a starring role in the updated version of the 1970s hit series “Charlie’s Angels” in 1988. A year later, she had another starring role as Lisa DiNapoli in the daytime TV drama “Santa Barbara.”
In 1991, Tea Leoni landed her first big screen role in the movie “Switch.” Tea Leoni then worked on various roles in movies and TV shows. In 1992, Tea Leoni had a role in the women’s baseball movie “A League of Their Own” starring alongside Madonna, Geena Davis and Tom Hanks. That same year, Tea Leoni starred opposite Corey Parker in the Fox sitcom “Flying Blind,” where she played the role of a downtown Manhattan girl who falls quickly in love with a regular, low-profile college graduate.
In 1994, Tea Leoni starred in the Western-inspired movie “Wyatt Earp” as Sally. Tea Leoni then starred in the TV movie “Counterfeit Contessa” as Gina Leonardo Nardino, and in the 1996 movie “Flirting with Disaster” and “There’s No Fish Food in Heaven.” The following year, Tea Leoni made a guest appearance in the sitcom “Frasier” and landed a recurring role in the sitcom “The Naked Truth,” where she became known to audiences as Nora Wilde. “The Naked Truth” ran for three years, from 1995 to 1998.
During the 1990s, Tea Leoni became one of the most bankable actresses to star in TV and movies. In 2000, she was voted #79 in FHM’s “100 Sexiest Women.”
Tea Leoni had a starring role in the disaster movie “Deep Impact” opposite Elijah Wood and on the 2001 box office hit “Jurassic Park III.” During this time, Tea Leoni appeared in several films, including “The Family Man,” “You Kill Me” and “Bad Boys.” In 2002, Tea Leoni had a lead role in Woody Allen’s “Hollywood Ending,” where she played the role of a film studio executive. Tea Leoni also worked opposite Adam Sandler in the 2004 comedy-drama movie “Spanglish.”
Other notable movie roles of Tea Leoni include the 2002 movie “People I Know” as Jilli Hopper, the 2005 comedy film “Fun with Dick and Jane” as Jane Harper, the 2007 movie “House of D” as Mrs. Warshaw, the 2008 horror flick “Ghost Town” and “Manure” in 2009.
Tea Leoni was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in October 2006.
