Tea Leoni is an American actress born on February 25, 1966 in New York City. She is of Polish and Italian descent on her father’s side, while her mother hailed from Texas. Tea Leoni showed interest in acting at a very young age, thanks to the influence of her paternal grandmother, Helen Tradusa Adamowska, a stage and film actress during her time. Her paternal grandfather was the brother of Italian politician Maffeo Pantaleoni.
Tea Leoni studied at the Brearley School and The Putney School. Tea Leoni later entered the Sarah Lawrence College, but dropped out to pursue an acting career.
As an actress, Tea Leoni began her career in 1988 when she was cast in a starring role in the updated reboot of the hit ‘70s series “Charlie’s Angels.” Not long after Tea Leoni had another starring role, this time as Lisa DiNapoli in the daytime drama “Santa Barbara.”
Tea Leoni became known for her roles in the movies “Switch,” “A League of Their Own,” “Wyatt Earp” and “Counterfeit Contessa.” She also starred in the sitcom “Flying Blind,” and had roles in TV shows such as “Frasier” and “The Naked Truth.”
During the late 1990s and the early 2000s, Tea Leoni performed notable roles in movie projects such as “Deep Impact,” “Jurassic Park III,” “The Family Man,” “You Kill Me,” “Bad Boys,” “Spanglish,” and “Fun with Dick and Jane.”
In 1991, Tea Leoni married her first husband, Neil Joseph Tardio, Jr., a television commercial producer. They married at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located in Hope, New Jersey. The marriage lasted for four years and they parted ways in 1995.
In 1997, Tea Leoni married actor David Duchovny, who himself became known as the star of the hit supernatural series “The X Files.” They have two children, Madelaine West, born in April 1999 and Kyd Miller, born in June 2002.
